About
CARE FOR THE CRATER

This pilot event marks the beginning of an annual tradition designed to foster volunteerism and environmental stewardship year-round.
The initiative is organized in partnership with the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR). It builds upon the ongoing Care for the Crater monthly volunteer workday program.
Volunteers who contribute to conservation efforts at Lēʻahi will gain access to an exclusive IZ tribute concert. They will also participate in ceremonial koa tree planting. This experience reinforces a shared sense of kuleana (responsibility) to both land and legacy.
This model offers more than a moment—it offers a scalable blueprint for reciprocal engagement with Hawaiʻi’s natural and cultural resources. It’s a powerful reminder that when community comes together with intention, aloha becomes a force that moves both hearts and hands.
Together, we can ensure that Diamond Head remains a source of inspiration and stewardship for generations to come.
